Malin Kundang

Malin including a smart kid but a bit naughty. He often chasing chickens and hit him with a broom.

One day, malin feel sorry for her mother who was tired of working to rear her. And then he decided to go wander in order to become rich after returning to my hometown later.

Initially his mother less agree, because since her husband had not returned after going wander. but malin forced to leave. until finally she could give up to go riding malin-owned merchant ships.  During their stay on the ship, Malin Kundang much to learn about seamanship on the crew that have been experienced.

Along the way, suddenly climbed Malin Kundang ship attacked by pirates. All merchandise traders who were on the ship seized by pirates. Even most of the crew and people on the ship were killed by the pirates. Malin Kundang lucky, he was hiding in a small space enclosed by the timber so as not to be killed by the pirates.

malin suddenly stranded on a beach. then he road to the nearest village. turns out that the village is a fertile village. with energy left, malin worked hard in the village until he finally became a wealthy man. malin have a lot of ships and hundreds of his men. after becoming wealthy, he married the girl he loved

after the ship was stopped at the edge of the dock, the mother went directly to his son malin. "Malin Kundang, my son, why did you go so long without sending any news?", She said, hugging Malin Kundang. But seeing an old woman dressed in tattered and filthy hug Malin Kundang become angry even though he knew that the old lady is his mother, because she was embarrassed when it was known by his wife and his men.

 getting treated like that of his son, the mother of Malin Kundang very angry. She had not expected him to turn into a rebellious child. because of her frustration mounting, the mother of his son cursed Malin Kundang “Oh God, if he my son, I swear he's become a rock".

Not long after Malin Kundang back and go sailing trip comes amid a violent storm destroyed the ship Malin Kundang. After that Malin Kundang body slowly becomes stiff and gradually eventually shaped into a rock. Until now Malin Kundang Stone can still be seen at a beach called Aia Manih coast, south of the city of Padang, West Sumatra.
